Getting started

How to link your SpicyChilli device

Connect your sensor with the plant it will care for, identify the species, and start with useful growing ranges—all in one smooth setup.

About 3 minutes Beginner friendly

One sensor. One plant. Better decisions.

Linking gives every reading the right plant context.

Before you start

Have these three things ready

Your sensor

Keep the device or its packaging nearby so you can find the UUID.

Your account

Use the mobile app or sign in through a modern web browser.

The plant name

A catalog search or custom name is enough to link the sensor and apply the right care ranges.

Linking associates a sensor with your account and plant. If the sensor has not joined Wi-Fi yet, complete its connectivity setup separately in the mobile app.

What happens next

Your plant now has context

As readings arrive, SpicyChilli can show temperature, soil moisture, humidity, and light in the context of your selected plant. That makes the dashboard easier to understand and alerts more useful.

Give plants helpful locations so multiple sensors remain easy to recognise.

Your uploaded identification photo is not published to the plant catalog.

Quick fixes

If something does not look right

The UUID is not accepted

Check every character against the label and remove accidental spaces. If the sensor belongs to another account, contact support.

The photo match is wrong

Select Not right? to search by common or scientific name, or use a custom name and update the match later.

The plant appears but has no readings

Confirm the sensor is powered and connected to Wi-Fi, then allow a little time for its first reading to arrive.
